Dogs, cats, birds less than 12 inches in length, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, turtles, frogs, lizards, and aquarium fish and snails may be kept in units; provided, however, that no animal may at any time weigh more than 25 pounds. Prohibited animals include, but are not limited to, exotic animals, farm animals, pigs, poisonous creatures, insects, snakes, ferrets, tarantulas, monkeys, and chimpanzees, none of which may be kept in any unit.2. No more than two animals may be kept in any unit. Fish are not limited in number, but aquarium size is limited to 100 gallons.
3. Every dog and cat must be registered by the resident with the management office within ten days of the animal’s arrival in the building, and dog and cat registrations must be renewed each year. Failure to do so may result in a fine. See Schedule of Fines. There is an annual registration fee for the first dog or cat, plus an additional fee for the second dog or cat (except for qualified service or support animals, as defined below). See Schedule of Fees. Registration must include proof of the animal’s weight (certified by a veterinarian), physical description, picture of the dog or cat, and proof of current required inoculations and City of Chicago licensing. Such documents must be provided upon registration, and current copies may be requested by Management at any time or from time to time.
